Forest is a natural wealth that is not terbarui estimated price. Due to the nature of the forests can be used to support sustainable living. some functions of forests based on fulfillment of human life :
1.Protected Forest
protected forest is a working forest governance in order to protect water and soil, microorganisms, animals and the oxygen, and maintain temperature stability.
2.Forest Preserve
Forest is a forest preserve that function to protect or preserve rare plants and animals, such as a forest in Ujung Kulon, west Java.
3.Production Forests
Production forest is forest that can be taken of plants and animals and used for human needs such as wood, animal prey, and others. For example, pine forest and teak.
4.Forest Tourism
Forest Tourism is a natural or man-made forest that deliberately cater for tourism or recreational purposes so that the components of ecosystem and governance ruangnya made interesting for tourists, for example, forests in Cibodas, Tawang Mangu.
On the tropical rain forests, plants, the dominant vegetation is wooden, while the many animals found that, among other herbivora large bison, rhinoceros and tiger and karnivora as wildcats.
In the forest climate plants that are found among many other ephypit, moss, fern-pakuan, konifir and plants, while animals that are often found in general is a rodent.
Taiga Forest found in the plant and animal species konifir in the Taiga forest include black bear, elk, wolves, rabbits and also.
* Plants
Plants are grouped into 3 groups :
1.Plant part,plant is have one cell and breed with the split self.
Example:Bacteria,seaweed.
2.Tallus plants, are plants which can not be distinguished between the root,stem,and leaves.
Example:Mushroom,Alga.
3.Kormus plants, are plants that can be distinguished between the root, stem, and leaves.
Example:plants that have a spore,plant seeds.
However, plants can also be classified based on :
1.Appear. based on this plant can be classified into groups herb, scrub, perdu, and trees.
2.Utilization. plants are grouped into the plants of food, of clothing, materials for making houses, medicines, and tasty.
* Animals
Animals can be classified based on the number of cells forming the body, forming a layer body, perfect tool digestion, the body cavity, and there is no frame or body.every living things have characteristics that can be distinguished from other living creatures. How the group is used to living creatures, among others :
-Anatomy,
-Embryology,
-Evolution,
-Genetics,
-Morphology,
-Physiology.
But takson sequence that is used in sistematika mortality is :
-Kingdom,
-Phylum,
-Class,
-Ordo,
-Family,
-Genus,and
-Species.

Biodiversity express the diversity of ecosystems and genetic types in a vegetation, animals and microorganisms that is integrated in an ecosystem process. Indonesia biodiversity including the most high when compared with the area and are a cold. Indonesia has approximately 17% of species biodiversity in the world that is :
- 11% types of flowering plants,
- 12% types of mammals,
- 15% types of reptiles and amphibi,
- 17% types of birds,
- 27% types of fish,and
- 10% type of jasad renik.
Indonesia land plant has approximately 400 fruit trees, 360 types of vegetable plants, 70 types of plant tubers, up 60 types of plants and 50 kinds of spice plants.
Distribution of species in the Indonesian archipelago is determined by factors ekologis.Irian Jaya has a bird and reptile species of the highest, while the rich sulawesi and kalimantan akan mammals and plants endemik.To maximize and utilize biodiversity efforts required a more intensive exploitation with attention to sustainability, given the many area which is not yet known exactly biological resources.
According to nature, natural resources are vital natural resources that can terbarui.But,have some type of biological resource recovery processes that require time consuming and difficult, so the need of human intervention. Therefore, in the use of natural resources, biodiversity, it is necessary to the efficiency and consider aspects of the environment.
